MICHELLE M. BURGE, CPA

Professional Community Management (PCM)

Michelle Burge, Chief Financial Officer of PCM, is a Certified Public Accountant with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration (Accounting) from San Diego State University.

She has over 25 years of community management experience and supervised both the corporate and client accounting department of PCM since joining the company in 1996. Under her leadership and supervision, PCM's accounting department maintains the accounting records and directs the financial affairs of over 270 community associations located throughout Southern California. This includes overseeing the preparation of monthly financial statements, annual budgets, banking, accounts payable and receivable, investments, internal controls, delinquencies, developer billing, and escrow closings.

Michelle works closely with developers and client boards of directors in providing guidance and understanding of the financial needs of each community and is responsible for organizing and conducting on-going training classes for developers and association board members. She also assists in the marketing of developer accounts and large scale on-site managed communities.

In addition to her duties as CFO, Michelle supervises the Human Resources Department with responsibility for employee relations, corporate insurance, payroll, benefits administration, safety, workers compensation and risk management.

She began her career in public accounting where her main focus was on providing auditing and tax services to homeowner associations. After leaving public accounting, she worked for a large commercial property management company, reporting monthly financial results to a major developer on each of its properties.

Prior to joining PCM, Michelle served as Controller for a large resort management company and was responsible for supervising and overseeing the financial affairs of approximately 60,000 owners with resorts located throughout the United States. Michelle also served as Chief Financial Officer for another management company, which managed over 95 community associations located throughout Southern California.

Michelle has been active on both the Finance Committee and Management Firm Council of the California Association of Community Managers (CACM) and is a member of the California Society of Certified Public Accountants and American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
